New Hope Animal Rescue to host Customer Appreciation Day

New Hope Animal Rescue volunteer Wanda Reid of Tornado and president Mike Miske of Winfield pet Radar, a two-year-old German shepherd/Lab mix, who was up for adoption.

New Hope Animal Rescue wants to thank its customers.

New Hope, a nonprofit, all-volunteer foster/rescue group, is hosting its annual Customer Appreciation Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12, at its Paws and Shop store, 2806 Putnam Ave., Hurricane.

Paws and Shop sells donated goods to support the work of New Hope Animal Rescue. To show appreciation for loyal customer and donor support, members of New Hope will serve free hot dogs, veggie dogs, chips, drinks and desserts. In addition, door prizes will be given away each hour.

Paws and Shop is open weekly from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday and Saturday. Donations are always accepted, with the exception of clothing and electronics.

All proceeds from the event will go towards NHAR’s funds to help with the care of rescued animals, to assist people on a limited income with spay/neuter for their pets and NHAR’s fund to build a no-kill shelter in the Putnam/Kanawha county area.

For more information, call New Hope Animal Rescue, 304-562-0300.
