Patriotic theme to mark annual county seniors’ picnic
Putnam County residents ages 60 and older, along with their friends and families, are invited to report for this year’s Putnam County Senior Picnic.
Scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 25, the picnic will be held at Waves of Fun Park on Valley Park Drive in Hurricane.
This year’s picnic has a patriotic theme and will feature all-American amusements, including photo booths, cornhole, door prizes, vendor booths and live music by Mountain Grass. The menu will include American favorites like apple pie, hamburgers, lemonade and more.
While the Putnam County Senior Picnic dates back decades, the 2017 gathering will mark the eighth consecutive year it has been sponsored by the City of Hurricane and organized by the Putnam County Aging Program. Local businesses and participating vendors donate door prizes.
Last year’s picnic was attended by nearly 300 people.
