A pair of Buffalo High School football standouts signed on March 22 to play at West Virginia Wesleyan College. Fullback/linebacker Jacob Hanshaw and offensive/defensive lineman Hunter Allen both signed with the Bobcats last week.

Both Allen and Hanshaw earned Class A All-State second-team honors in 2016. Allen made the second team at offensive lineman, while Hanshaw made the second team at linebacker. Allen spearheaded the blocking that led the Bison to 3,342 rushing yards last season and helped running back Dylan Lucas gain 2,465 yards and 36 touchdowns on his way to winning the Curt Warner Award as the state’s top running back. On defense, Allen added 54 tackles, eight for a loss.

Hanshaw racked up 115 tackles, including 19 for a loss. He added two sacks, an interception, forced two fumbles and blocked two kicks. On offense, he rushed for 422 yards on 65 carries with two touchdowns.
